Customer Appreciation Spotlight: Bittersweet Cafe

This weekend we had the chance to stop by Bittersweet Cafe and enjoy some coffee while watching their team in action on a beautiful sunny Sunday.

From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm, authentic atmosphere that feels both cozy and intentional. Every detail—from the charming aesthetic to the thoughtfully prepared food—reflects the care they put into serving our community.

We especially love seeing our Footprints Farm eggs featured on their menu, helping create delicious sandwiches made with fresh, local ingredients. There's something special about farm-to-table food: knowing where it comes from, who raised it, and the hands that helped bring it to your plate.

Meanwhile, Ellen is out there trimming tomatoes and keeping the farm running like the boss babe she is. When things get tough, she just keeps going—usually with a garden tool in one hand and a to-do list in the other.

We're convinced half the farm grows on sunshine and the other half grows on Ellen's determination. ❤️🌱

Victor Faupel-Persons and Mini Vic have been hard at work getting chicken ready for your next order!

Well... Victor has been doing the work (with the rest of our crew!) Mini Vic has mostly been supervising, taste-testing bottles, and boosting farm morale. We all have our roles. 😆

But seriously, one of our favorite things about raising pasture-raised chicken is knowing it's feeding families just like ours.

🐾 Meet Hotcha! 🐾

If you've ever visited Footprints Farm, chances are you've seen Hotcha making her rounds. As Hannah's dog and one of our official farm guardians, she's been protecting this farm since she was a puppy.

When she's off duty, you'll usually find her catching up on sleep in the bus or curled up in the granary. But once the sun goes down, it's time to get to work. Hotcha can cover anywhere from 5 to 25 miles a night, patrolling the farm, checking on livestock, and helping the other guardian dogs at their stations. She's a gentle giant unless you are stealing one of her chickens 🫣

She takes her job seriously, asks for very little praise, and somehow always knows exactly where she's needed most. Whether it's keeping watch over the animals or making sure everything is as it should be, Hotcha is one of the many reasons our farm sleeps a little easier at night.

Thanks for all the miles, Hotcha—we'd be lost without you!

Meet Cadon!

We're not exactly sure how long Cadon has been working at Footprints Farm... but we're pretty sure he's been here longer than some of the fence posts.

If there's an animal that needs moved, fed, checked on, or wrangled, Cadon is your guy. The animals seem to love him (we even featured Patch's scary smile--we promise, he really does love Cadon) Just don't ask him to collect eggs in the rain—that's where he draws the line. JK though, he is down to do any job we throw at him.

When he's not helping on the farm, you'll usually find him building computers, solving tech problems, or working on something most of us don't understand. Which makes perfect sense because this August he'll be leaving to join the United States Navy as a Cyber Warfare Technician.

Cadon may be quiet, but don't let that fool you. He's one of the hardest workers around, strong as an ox, dependable as they come, and always willing to help wherever needed.

We're proud of all he's accomplished and excited to see where this next adventure takes him. The Navy is getting a good one!
