Well went to water the garden tonight and found mu plastic had be ripped up on the far end of the 2nd garden. By the smell of things the culprits are skunks. We’ve been noticing a hole being created beside my metal shed inbetween it and the chicken coop run. We are pretty certain they are making a home there. So the trap is out and set. Praying they don’t spray my chickens in the morning when they come out over their coop.

Life and the farm have been super busy lately. Soybeans and corn are in the ground between all the rain we’ve had. Now It’s officially hay cutting time. Thankfully the rain has finally let up and we are going to have sunshine!

The 11 raised bed gardens are full of veggies, herbs, and flowers. Only one bed left to go! Then it’s on to planting sweet corn, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, zucchini, and sunflowers in the ground. Hoping to have it all done by end of day on Saturday.

Our farm stand is fully open today and should be all this week weather permitting. These last 3-4 days have been rough to keep things out and not get soaks or blown away. Fully open today as of 9:30am till dusk. Monday thru Friday weather permitting 7:30am to dusk.

Theres a couple new additions you don’t want to miss out on. 😉

Our self serve farm stand is officially OPEN!

It will be open every weekend from 9:30am-to dusk.

This is the first time I think since 2019 or maybe 2020 that I’ve mowed along this fence line. (The cows aren’t ours they are my brother in laws and his family.) Their dad used to mow along here couple times a week for years. The cows would come running for that fresh cut grass. Today was no different. We think of Curt often as the farm was his life. Everything we touch here always reminds us of him. This is just one of the more special moments I used to think, he’s making the cows very happy today.

The corner of this field to the left, our first son, Curt, I used to walk along this path an talk nap it how green everything was and both our son and Curt would laugh and smile together. Miss those days with him. ❤️
