We offer locally grown plants and farm-fresh produce that we raise in our greenhouses and on our family farm. Each spring, our greenhouses are full of plants; ferns, geraniums, hanging baskets, bedding plants and vegetable starter plants, for sale to the public. We also raise our own fruit and vegetable plants from seed that we plant on our family farm. Our field-grown produce offerings change wit

h the seasons. Traditionally, standard crops that grow well in North Carolina include: strawberries, cabbage, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, blueberries, peppers, potatoes, corn, tomatoes, green beans, eggplant, cantaloupe, watermelon, field peas, lima beans, October beans and sweet potatoes! These are available at our various markets which are; our certified roadside stand located at the farm, the Elon Farmers Market, the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market and the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market. We look forward to meeting you and serving you with quality products and friendly customer service!

Tropical Storm Arthur brought some very welcome rain to the southeast yesterday and we are thankful for every drop! At Smith Farms, we wound up with almost an inch of rain by daybreak! And luckily, we didn’t have any of the high winds associated with storms like that. This morning, it appears that all our crops are still standing! Happy Friday! We will be open normal hours through the weekend. Friday 8:30 - 5:30 and Saturday 8:30 - 4:30.

Shout-out to all our brave and dedicated customers who withstood today’s rain storm at the start of the Elon Farmers Market - and didn’t complain when they got soaking wet while waiting in line to make their produce purchases! There were many of you and Y’ALL ROCK! Thanks too, for the customers who waited out the storm and still came to market after it passed, expecting to find us there! We held our ground - we were soaked to the socks - but we were there! 🌧️

In honor of our nation's 250th birthday, coming up this year - we want to highlight several RED / WHITE and BLUE produce and flower options that we have available for you at Smith Farms right now! It is not often that strawberry season extends long enough to overlap the start of blueberry season, but for today, it HAS!! And we have BOTH ripe, red strawberries and blueberries available for sale in addition to all of our 4" annuals that are currently half price - choose from "blue" lobelia, white scaevola or white lantana and red petunias or red angel wing begonias - mix all in a planter to get a patriotic splash of color for your July 4th festivities! 🇺🇸
