The berry season has officially come to an end! We are about three weeks late on this message but we wanted to thank our wonderful customers for making this year as great as it could be. It’s been a tough year with the unpredictable weather and limited yields but we continue to learn year in and year out. We look forward to seeing everyone next year on the farm!

For people who have asked, the yield this year was 1070lbs which for reference last year was close to 2300lbs.

Everyone has been asking us about why our season ended so early this year! We are at about half our normal yields for the year. It’s been a rough year for blueberry farmers all over the country! We closed a week or two early due to lack of blueberries.

Tomorrow appointments:

There is no perfect way to manage ripening and customer flow because so much is unpredictable- the weather, the number of people per appointment, how much each group or individual decides to pick- and no, we are not planning on instituting a limit on the number of pounds of berries individual customers can pick to accommodate more customers. We say this to inform you that we have limited quantities of berries remaining.

We need the 🌞!

We sure do need some sunshine to ripen up the blueberries! That cold weather slowed us down and we’ve been playing catch up ever since. (It was so cold that even my asparagus were tricked into putting up more stalks!🤦🏻‍♀️)

Hopefully tomorrow we’ll get a good dose! It’s getting hard to find a lot of blue ones. Lots of purples… here’s why:

🫐 Farm Update

We always want to be honest and transparent with you. Unfortunately, the cool weather has slowed the ripening of our blueberries.

Because of this, we won’t have berries available for appointments on July 2nd or 3rd. If you have an appointment on either of those days, please send us a message so we can get you rescheduled.

If the weather doesn’t warm up soon, we may also need to postpone July 6th appointments. If you’re scheduled for July 6th and can switch to a later date, please reach out and we’ll gladly help you reschedule.

We know many of you have been looking forward to visiting the farm, and we’re just as disappointed as you are. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we wait for Mother Nature to do her thing. We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm soon. 💙🫐

Appointments went live Sunday, June 21 at 5 PM, but due to a user error in the booking system, appointments were only available two weeks out. The issue has been fixed, and additional appointments will be released Wednesday, June 24th at 5 PM.
