🌾 COME FIND US AT AGRITOPIA FARM NIGHT 🌾

Because food has a story...and we’d love to share ours with you.

At Oatman Farms, we grow heritage grains in the Arizona desert with a simple belief: great food starts with healthy soil, thoughtful farming, and a real connection to the land.

🌱 Regenerative Organic Certified®: We’re building healthier soil, supporting biodiversity, and using 60% less water than conventional farming.

🌾 Heritage and Specialty Grains: White Sonora, Red Fife, Blue Beard Durum, and more—grains selected for their resilience, flavor, and history.

⚙️ Artisan Stone-Milling Fresh on the Farm: We stone-mill our grains, preserving the bran, germ, nutrients, and all the complex flavor they bring to the table.

🤎 Farm-to-table, for real: We want you to know your farmer, know your grain, and feel good about what you’re feeding the people you love.

Come visit us at Agritopia Farm Night and hear the story behind what we grow...and why we grow it the way we do.

Some of the best baking happens when two farms end up in the same bowl.

These strawberry scones combine our Red fife and Sonora wheat with sour cream , just two regenerative organic producers working toward the same goal. Healthy soil. Real food. Ingredients that give more than they take.

If you've never baked scones before, this is the place to start. No mixer, no fuss, just a bowl, cold butter, and about 30 minutes. They come together rough, a little imperfect, and absolutely charming , which is exactly how they're supposed to look. And they never fail to impress.

Red fife brings a gentle wheat nuttiness. White Sonora keeps things tender. Together they make an all-purpose flour with real depth.

Mill your own from our regenerative wheat berries, or reach for our stone-ground whole wheat flour. The recipe is now on our website.

There's something about a cold January evening that calls for warm biscuits made with sharp cheddar, fresh jalapeños, and freshly milled, regenerative organic Red Fife & White Sonora flour blend.

White Sonora brings the tender crumb and red Red Fife brings nutty depth. Together, they make biscuits with heritage wheat flavor.

Use fresh jalapeños, seeds and all if you like heat. Combined with sharp cheddar (the sharper the better), they create little pockets of spicy richness throughout each bite.

Pro Move: Don't baby these. Pat them down slightly before they go in the oven and let them bake until the bottoms turn deeply golden like when cheese cooks in a hot pan. That's where magic happens: crispy, lacy edges of caramelized cheddar with umami.

Serve them alongside a pot of white bean chili or tomato soup for pure winter comfort.

Our farm is located in the small community of Gila Bend, Arizona, what seems like just another stop in the desert expanse. Population: 1,900. Annual rainfall: 4 inches. A place to fuel up and keep moving toward wherever you're going.

But what you don't know is that you're standing at the single most important meeting point in the settling of the American West; what we call The Crossroads of the Southwest.

The dirt that grows our wheat holds memories of:

→The Hohokam, who built platform mounds and irrigation canals here 1,700 years ago
→ The O'odham, who cultivated White Sonora wheat here for 300+ years
→ Captain Juan Bautista de Anza, who camped here in 1775 on his way to found San Francisco
→ Thousands of forty-niners who stopped here after crossing the deadly "Forty Mile Desert"
→ The Butterfield Overland Mail, which changed horses here twice a week carrying the nation's mail coast to coast

Every westward journey passed through here. The geography made it inevitable becasue of the Gila River's great bend that offered water, rest, and hope to weary travelers.

Today, we farm at this same crossroads—growing the White Sonora wheat the O'odham cultivated for three centuries on soil the Hohokam first farmed. When you bake with Oatman Farms heirloom White Sonora wheat, you taste the heritage. You taste the memory. You taste the resilience of three thousand years of desert wisdom in every bite.

That's what comes with every bag of flour from the Crossroads of the Southwest.

At Oatman Farms, regenerating our soil isn't a marketing position. It's a responsibility.

Because soil is where the health of our food and our planet begins. When it's alive with microbes and rich in minerals, it pushes nutrients to plants. Those plants deliver bioavailable nutrition our bodies recognize. They carry beneficial bacteria that inoculate our gut microbiome. They provide the disease prevention that comes from growing in minerally complete ground. Healthy soil holds water during droughts and filters it during floods. It supports native animal and plant life. It sequesters carbon from the atmosphere.

Every decision we make is about building soil health that will outlast us. We're creating ground that's more alive, more resilient, more nutrient-dense than when we started.

Because the wheat we grow this year feeds us today. But the soil we build feeds the next generation.

This is farming that thinks beyond the harvest. Beyond the season. Beyond the bottom line.

This is how we leave things better than we found them. Read our Impact Report ⬆️ to see the facts behind our regenerative organic farming.
