One question I get pretty often is what keeps a water softener from overfilling with water and flooding the garage?
There are actually a couple of safeguards built into the system. The control valve regulates when water is sent to the brine tank, and inside the tank itself, there’s a safety float assembly designed to shut off the incoming water if the level gets too high.
These components are pretty simple, but they’re also extremely important. It’s one of the reasons we’re particular about the equipment we install and why we use the Clack WS1 control valve on our State48Water systems. If you have an older softener that’s filling with too much water, give us a shout and we’d be happy to take a look.

It’s a great day for an upgrade. This water softener was over 10 years old, and we had actually done a few repairs on it about five years ago!

Our client wanted to add some chlorine filtration, so we went through options on adding a filter, or replacing the aging system with something new. They opted to replace with our combination whole house filter and water softener!

Being late drives me nuts. If we give you an appointment time, that’s when we’re going to be there. Most of the time, we’re early.

Today we beat the homeowner by about 15 minutes, so instead of sitting around waiting, we got everything unloaded and prepped. Water softener ready, brine tank ready, tools out and everything we need for the install sitting there waiting on us. As soon as they pull up, we can get to work.

Your time matters too. Pretty simple.

Two things that go together: Me and our clients pups(this is Hank), but also your pup and clean water. One of the questions I get asked all the time is if reverse osmosis water is safe for dogs.

The short answer, yes. The long answer: if you don’t feel like the tapwater is safe enough for your family to drink, don’t feed it to your pups. The extreme high mineral content can cause health issues along with the chlorine and other chemicals.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. This time last year we were doing maybe 2 or 3 installs a week, and between those installs I was out knocking doors, passing out flyers and talking to anyone who would listen. Some days I’d be out there for 4, 5, 6, even 8 hours because I wanted this thing to work.

Fast forward a year and today I’m out passing out flyers while my guys and I are finishing up another install. Pretty damn cool to think about.

Running a business definitely isn’t always sunshine and roses, but I’m incredibly grateful that I get to wake up and do this every day. Thank you to everyone who has trusted us, recommended us to a neighbor, shared one of our videos or supported this little water softener company in any way. I’m super stoked to see where we can take it.

We typically program your water softener to regenerate at 2am. Why? Unless you are throwing a rager, you usually aren’t using water at 2 AM and that prevents hard water from getting into your home.

In most homes you’ll never hear it, but If you have a long run between your water softener and your drain, you may hear it in the middle of the night. If that’s the case, here are some instructions on how to reprogram your water softener to regenerate at a time that’s more convenient.
