We’re bringing back one of the most beloved recipes in our community — and this time, we’re making it even harder to resist. 🍞✨
Keto Capirotada. Sweet and savory Mexican bread pudding, made with our SONORA Keto Bolillo/French Bread Mix. Zero guilt. All tradition.
🍞 You’ll Need:
Sweet Cream: 1 qt cream + 1 cup water, 2 cups brown sugar-flavor keto sweetener (we love Swerve), 1 cup white keto sweetener, 1 tbsp vanilla, 4 star anise, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1½ tsp salt.
Bread: 1 bag SONORA Keto Bolillo/French Bread Mix + 1 egg + ¾ cup water + butter for toasting.
Toppings: Dried blueberries, coconut flakes, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, cashews, queso fresco, cilantro & green onion. Yes, ALL of it. Trust us.
🍳 Let’s Make It:
1️⃣ Bake your bread: Mix, bake, slice, and dry it out.
2️⃣ Sweet Cream: Simmer cream, water, sweeteners, vanilla, star anise, cinnamon & salt until slightly thickened.
3️⃣ Toast it up: Butter and toast those dried bread slices until golden.
4️⃣ Layer it: In a 9x9 pan — bread first, then pile on the nuts, berries, coconut, queso, cilantro & green onion.
5️⃣ Pour that sweet cream: Fill until it’s ½ inch from the top.
6️⃣ Bake: Covered at 350°F for 45 min, then uncovered for 15 min until golden.
7️⃣ Serve warm or chilled — it’s magic either way. ✨
