Lesson from flowers…I used to be anti-campanula, thinking it was an odd-looking bloom that was a tough sell in market bouquets because most of their glory was hidden beneath the wrap. Now, I’m a super fan because I know they’re the gift that keeps on giving, and sometimes you have to have trust in people that they will look beyond the surface to find the beauty that lies within.

Absolutely lush, healthy and full of color. I would say that the first year of overwintering statice was a success!

Not much time for posting, or much extra for that matter these days, but I had to do a quick shoutout to for their dedication to teaching kids while they’re young about where their food comes from. We did our annual garden cleanup, refresh and plant this Sunday, and every single time we do it, I feel like we’re a couple of secret garden gnomes planting the garden, that to a wee one, probably seems like magic overnight!

Beautiful snapdragons are being harvested now! They’re a couple weeks late, and not as plentiful as usual, due to this darn season, but regardless, we’re thrilled to see them. The stems are long and sturdy, and the blooms are robust and gorgeous. We look forward to sharing them with all of you!

Some things are worth their weight in gold. Some things are better let go. This is the forever battle in the flower farming world! This blush beauty is Cloni Success Hanoi. Despite its high ticket price per corm, I’m pretty sure it’s worth it. Dreamy color, strong stems, large bloom size and delicate ruffled petals…I think it checks all the boxes!

One of the great benefits of the design side of our farm is the people we meet. Yesterday morning, while finishing up arrangements for another event, the father of the bride pulls up to pick up the flowers for his daughter’s wedding. Within moments of our introduction, we were off and running. From our shared connections to Orange County and San Diego to AI, the conversation flowed easily. What an incredible joy to find ourselves in the company of such lovely, kind people! And then I was able to share our usual banter, giggles and hugs with a second pickup by a dear friend of the farm, and finally meet her friend whom I have heard about for years. Oh yes, how could I forget…to top it all off, the temps allowed us to plant some of our first crops outside yesterday! My bucket is full!
