This one is going to hurt a little. As much as we love him and his beautiful progeny has truly worked himself out of a job here as we shrink our herd. With only 3 milking does remaining, one is his daughter and the other his littermate sister's daughter.

Yeti has left his mark in our herd for sure and now it is his turn to make that mark in someone else's. Easy to manage buck that we have owned since he was a few weeks old, has always lived with 1-2 other bucks, he is typically lower in the herd, easy to maintain and low key outside of rut. Better late than never!

Back in April at the Sweet Spring Show Sophie finished her favorite girl, I think it's safe to say within our circle she is the infamous, Bellhurst Rutabaga. 😆

At home we joke often about what an ugly duckling Rutabaga was as a kid (*baby Ru pic attached*). She really just hit an ugly duckling stage around 4 months and stayed there for like the next year, or maybe two, her head never came out of it 😆but Sophie loved her and stole her, and she just kept showing her and seeing her potential so here we are, 5 years later with a doe that truly is aging like a really fancy cheese. She is easy to milk, loves to eat, and doesn't mind being on the road, couldn't ask for much more in a show goat. Having granddaughters of hers in the herd this year feels crazy, but they are stunning and we are excited to watch them grow in hopes they are half the goat she has been for us.

After a really rough kidding this year I'm not sure if Sophie will breed her again, so she is enjoying showing her this year and we will see what the future holds. ❤

We had a really great time at the NYSDGBA/CNYDBGA Show in Syracuse NY, truly one of our favorite shows of the year, though we missed some of our favorite friends who couldn't make it and only got to see others briefly, we still had a great time with our other favorite people. Some of our best girls went back to their roots after blessing us with lots of memories, ribbons, and beautiful kids over the years, and we lightened the workload a little more here.

SBA Acres Epic was looking pretttttty good and went Grand in both rings, though she couldn't quite outshine SBA Acres Flash Fiji to get Best of Breed (I mean who really could, that girl is on fire)., I do think that finishes her and adds a good ol' "CH" to her name. Another daughter of the AMAZING CH Bellhurst Quintessential, Tess truly could not have been more aptly named. I think we will keep hanging on to Epic's buck kid, we really just can't go wrong with this Dam line it seems. ❤

SBA Acres Cold Spell stood 3rd in a VERY competitive 2yo class (1st and 2nd were Grand and Reserve of the day) so we cannot complain about that for this first freshening gal who is growing into herself incredibly this last couple of months.

And then we took the twin juniors for their first outing, you know, the "we aren't keeping any kids this year" juniors. 😬 SBA Acres PS Scandal & SBA Acres PS Sublime (CH Bellhurst Serendipity x SBA Acres Pistachio son of CH Bellhurst Rutabaga). Really happy with how their placings were amongst herds we admire greatly, swapping between 2nd place in each ring in a 0–3-month class of six, and they mostly behaved. I'm totally in love with one, but you can probably talk my barn managers into relocating the other still. 😆
