We are going to be at the Yamboree Grounds Thursday through Saturday with apple butter, blueberry jam, breads (including PUMPKIN) and other ESSENTIALS that you'll want to stock up on this fall (or call me about getting to you later if you eat it all in one go)! Find me at the Pine Veil Marketing, LLP booth, set up next to Granny Deb's!

Ahhh, the joys of country living. Thankfully I was not making these for a customer, but for my family.

THE ANTS HAVE TAKEN OVER!

This is the first time this summer I have had any problems with ants. I guess the rain on Friday stirred them up and they realized they needed to try to find some food to tide them over for the fall and winter.

Never fear, though. I have some things that will clear them out quickly, efficiently, and are nontoxic. Even though I did have to throw the delicious bread out! 😢

Second rise started on this extremely fluffy bread! And it started that rise pretty quickly. My house smells fantastic, and while this is going to take a bit (all good things come to those who wait), I’ll be posting one last picture when it’s done. Reviews from the household will come later. This is a new recipe for us, and I’m already loving it!

Bread-making is cathartic, and the smell even before it goes into the oven always makes me feel the potential of autumn. Women baked bread every day, even in summer, but the warmth and coziness I feel when I bake always reminds me of fall.
