A Northern California native, Jeff was introduced to the wine industry at an early age, spending his formative years working on his family’s vineyard, an experience that shaped his deep appreciation for every aspect of winemaking. During high school and early adulthood, he continued to deepen that connection through hands-on roles at Meeker Wines and Alderbrook Winery, where he gained his first real experience with the production side of the craft.
After completing his first round of college in nursing and beginning a career in the medical field, Jeff found himself drawn toward a new path. Encouraged by his wife to revisit his early roots in wine, he began exploring whether the industry could become a long-term career. That decision led him back to college to pursue a degree in chemistry, a pivotal step that ultimately landed him a position at Testarossa in 2013.
While at Testarossa, Jeff received a more formal, hands-on education across all aspects of the wine industry, further refining the foundation he had built over the years. This experience lead him to his dream role as Assistant Winemaker at Verde Vineyards in 2020. In 2026, he was promoted to Winemaker, where he now oversees all day-to-day operations at Verde, from production management to estate vineyard consulting.
When not at the winery, he can be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Rachelle, and their son, Maverick, often sharing a bottle of Verde wine with family and friends.
What began with watered-down wine from his grandfather has evolved into a lifelong journey, culminating into Jeff crafting wines of his own.
