Seven Generations Farm

Seven Generations Farm "In every deliberation, we must consider the impact on the seventh generation..." - Iroquois Nation. Permaculture, herbalism, and sustainability in NH.

We are a homesteading couple, Eric and Nicole, based in Southwest New Hampshire. We practice permaculture principles and continue to learn each day. Our goal is to give back more to the land than we take from it. To ensure the seventh generation, 175 years from now, has a land of diversity and resilience.

Join us Saturday, May 31st, 10am to 12pm. 🌾
Scything offers a peaceful experience connecting with the land, while utilizing your body’s natural movements to cut grass, grains, cover crops, and even small brush. Marty Castriotta will also be discussing the importance of biomass production on both farm and global scales. Home scale biomass production is an important strategy for productivity, carbon sequestration, and climate resilience.
Workshop features will include managing a homestead while cutting by hand, as well as utilizing biomass in annual and perennial gardens, and scythe / blade maintenance.

Morning! We are planning to host a small handful of workshops at our homestead this year. I am curious what you would be interested in learning? Ideas swirling include: scythe workshop, foraging, starting a homestead, preserving, canning, planning your year round food needs, soil fertility/cover crops, compost making, botanical dyes, any and all herbalism. Let me know what you'd want to see!

More pie please 🥧
I set a goal to make more pie in 2024, ideally with every fruit in season. I didn’t capture a pic of them all (MIA Rhubarb) and I skipped pears. At the end of it all I learned I love a lard / butter crust best and cherry pie is Queen 🍒
1. Strawberry Tart (June)
2. Cherry pie (July)
3. Red and Black Raspberry pie (July)
4. Blueberry pie (August)
5. Peach hand pies (August)
6. Apple pie (October)
7. Sweet Meat Squash pie (November)
