Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Michael, CEO of NORKA Beverage and the new owner of the iconic Mary Coyle Ice Cream shop in Akron. Not only is he preserving a piece of Akron history, but he also surprised me with an incredible gift—two originally unopened Golden Age soda bottles that are nearly 100 years old! 🥤
As someone who has dedicated years to bringing Golden Age back to life, receiving these bottles was truly special. It’s a reminder that preserving local brands and community traditions matters.
What impressed me most wasn’t just the history—it was the people behind it. Michael and his team embody the values that built companies like Norka and Mary Coyle in the first place: family, community, hard work, and a genuine passion for serving others.
If you’re in Akron, do yourself a favor and support both Norka Beverage and Mary Coyle Ice Cream. Great products, great service, and even better people. We’re lucky to have businesses like these keeping our local history alive for future generations.
Thank you, Michael, for your generosity, friendship, and commitment to preserving a little piece of Northeast Ohio’s story. ❤️
