Oh the yum...

The "umbrella polypore" is such a fun one to find. At first, it looks like a Hen of the Woods but nowhere near cold enough 🥶. So maybe the tougher Meripilus sumsteni 🧐. But it's neither. It's even more dainty than the hens. Hundreds of little caps on a fractal of arms and branches, too.

The weather will ease up on us soon but I still recommend booking for 9am - noon. Message directly or ask here on the post if you need info

If you'd like to learn to find your own, come take a class. I teach "basics" M-F and Eugene covers a general but in-depth class every weekend (weather 🤷🏼‍♂️)

So, WOW. Kudos to Grace Bakes Bread Co for this amazing sourdough bread with wild chanterelles (fried on skillet, buttered, cooled, and then ground in a coffee grinder). Really knocked it out. The chanterelle flavor is throughout and you would never know by texture it's in the mix.

Simply excellent 👍🏼
