Our impromptu weekend project! The start of a new chicken coop! 🐔
Made primarily with pallets and left over material from various projects, we are able to keep costs at a minimum.
Does it take longer? Yes.
Does it add more layers of difficulty/ingenuity? Yep.
Is it worth it? Absolutely.
The cost of all new lumber would have meant we had to wait to even get started, but, instead, we are well over halfway done!

Fall is in full swing, which means fall mushrooms are popping up like crazy! Come see us tomorrow at the Gladwin Farmers Market where we will have fresh Hen of the Woods and Chicken of the Woods again!
NEW this week, is Reishi! This highly sought after medicinal mushroom has been used in teas and tinctures for hundreds of years. Supply is limited, so get to the market early to grab yours!
AND stay tuned, we may have a couple more freshly foraged varieties making their debut this week as well!

Hen of the woods are plentiful this week! If you have wanted to try these elusive mushrooms, this weekend is your chance! We will be running a special - only $10 per pound!! These are David's favorite for good reason. They have a savory, meaty flavor and are incredibly versatile. You can sauté them up (with butter, garlic, and salt), roast them, deep fry them, or use them in a wild mushroom soup! And, with these prices, you can stock up for the winter. They can be frozen, dehydrated, pickled, or canned!
Come see us Saturday from 9-1 at the Gladwin Farmers Market. Can't make it to the market? Shoot us a message and we can arrange something that works for both parties.

The woods have come alive with mushrooms this week! Lobsters, chanterelles, and boletes are everywhere you look.
I left most of the chanterelles to continue to grow for another day or two, but I could not resist that beautiful lobster!

Already sold out of Lions Mane, but we have limited quantities of Lobsters, a puff ball, and cultivated oysters. And we have plenty of chanterelles.
