I'm transplanting In the garden today. Sometimes it's hard getting your plants out of the little trays. I saw this on the internet. I thought well I'm going to try that. Tip though you need to have watered your little seedlings first, otherwise if they are dry the dirt crumbles apart.

And so it begins. May 14th 2026. I got tarps put down which took me quite a while. Hubby tilled up my area a couple days ago, what a guy. I couldn't do this without him. We have been shipping Dahlia tubers Non-Stop. I still have some left if you haven't ordered yours yet, send me a message. I told him the other day if he didn't do the packaging and shipping, I would not ship orders. It is a lot of work. But today started season 8 for us here on the Farm. I raked the garden and got some tarps put down, and now I am planting my first seedlings of the year. I can't wait to see what this year brings. I have some new varieties that I'm planting. A lot of the stuff I am planting I can dry so it can be used on the pumpkin Posies in the fall, when I have classes. If you are interested in classes please get with me. As usual My Sunshine is always with me.

Information on our dahlia tubers we grow on our you pick farm in Michigan. All the pictures on our page are from our field. In the Fall we dig up our tubers and inspect them. Then they get put into cold storage until we divide them in the spring. We clean our tools in-between each clump of tubers even if it has the same name on it.

When we package your order we check for firm tubers and make sure it has an eye on it. Every dahlia variety makes different looking tubers. I'm getting where I can almost tell which one it is just by the color and shape. Some are very small, some are really big, Lots of times the big ones break off when digging them up, but they are still good. Some are ugly but still they bloom into a beautiful flower.

We try to keep all the ugly and small tubers to grow here on the farm. At the end of our sales in the spring we will start to sell the big, the ugly, and the small ones. I will send you a picture of them first to make sure you want your order. We started growing dahlias for the you pick farm in 2018. I had grown them for about 10 years prior to that.

When we package your order we will label them and pack them in vermiculite. I'm sorry I don't offer beautiful and fancy packing material or make you labels. why? (because you won't be able to read them and it wont match your other labels) I won't send you any candy why? (because I don't want chocolate melting on your tubers and I dont want to be the reason you go off your diet)
