I guess after almost 7 years since our last post it’s time for a life/farm update post…….

I’m Frankie and along with my wife Erika and our two kids Caroline (7) and Franklin IV “Pierce” (6) the farm is officially transitioning to its third generation of ownership. For those of you that know and love my parents Frank and Julie - no worries they are still here living on the farm and doing well they just have been promoted. Frank is now called Pawpaw and is our senior advisor to the farm for anything and everything I have questions about. He is always quick to give me the wonderful hindsight advice after the fact too. Julie has been promoted to Nana and is our historical registrar of goat names and is quick to correct us if we have renamed a goat, used a name used before or don’t think our names are fit for a goat. I’m thankful for them both as I tackle this new adventure from the head farmer aspect. Yes I grew up here and helped build the farm into what it is today but it’s a little different when you are the one calling the shots. Speaking of the farm. We spent the last year fixing fences so that we could have our first kidding season this year which we officially entered into this past Thursday. We are thankful and blessed by God with the three little ones born between Thursday and Friday and we are excited and anxious for the other pregnant nannies as we head into the next few weeks. Lastly there will be a slight change to our name. Yes we will still be focused on raising Kiko goats but the most important thing that we will be focused on here is protecting and building on the legacy of this farm before us and passing it on to our kids and grandkids. With that being said we will transition to the name “Triple F Legacy Farm” as we move forward. God has truly blessed us with this opportunity and we owe it all to Him as we grow this farm and teach our kids about how to be good stewards of the land and be the protector and care taker for the livestock.

Well, today was a sad day. Our oldest goat, a Boer goat, died. Her name was Caroline and she belonged to our oldest daughter, Jordan. Caroline was close to 9 years old and lived a very "loved" life on our farm. This picture was from a couple of weeks ago and you can tell she was happy. And last week our granddaughter, Caroline, actually sat on her with Grandpa's help while she walked along. Yes, I shed some tears today....I told Frank that she sort of symbolized our kid's childhood here on the farm. He agreed but quickly reminded me what a sweet stage of life we are in now as our kids start their own lives and families. Ok....I'm finished with my melancholy mood!! But...we will miss that ole girl Caroline!! 😍😍
