7 years ago we welcomed a little black piglet from a farm in Oklahoma. Sight unseen and just a few pictures and I had to have him. That little piglet slowly grew into a massive boar. He's one of the most docile easy going kunekune pigs I've ever seen. I was admiring him while mowing and managed to get a few short videos!! He really is a gentle giant with a huge heart. I admit that his size is intimidating but I have never felt unsafe in his presence. I am honored to be his caretaker and friend. Other than brawling with his friends he lives a stress free life. Merlin 🖤

Copper Penny was retained from Katrina and Yummy's 2025 litter. She was smaller than her siblings. She also had a bad habit of biting shoes and pants and a sassy attitude which prevented her from going to a certain home that has young children. It's extremely important to me that they are the best fit for the right home especially when young children are involved.

In time she has blossomed into a beautiful calm gilt. Although she's been blowing her coat 😳

Gidget is moving much slower these days. I didn't witness her and Midas breeding but there's no doubt they were successful !!! Her earliest possible due date is the 16th. I will be moving her to the Farrowing shed SOON.

He was supposed to be starting a new chapter in his life. My friend was excited to add him to her farm. She was going to surprise me with the happy news after he arrived but instead the phone conversation started with her saying "Jake's dead" !! I could tell that she had been crying and was still in shock. She tried everything to save his life. I wish there was something that I could do to make my friend's pain go away. I wish Jake had made the trip safely and was getting to know his new family in Alabama. I wish they could have seen how incredibly sweet he was. The only consultation that I have is that I know that she was there for him in the end. He did not pass away alone in the back of a truck bed. Instead he took his last breath on the ground with people who would have done anything to save his life.

Moo's little ones are almost ready for weaning !! It's time for me to start making decisions. I will be retaining 1 or both gilts in this litter. I'm sending samples to UC Davis next week. I can't wait to find out who's the sire of each Gilt ❤️
The 2 possible sires are Comet and Midas.
