Warm temperatures continue, with clouds and showers ahead of an approaching cold front. Morning fog could slow visibility, while the changing weather may encourage some late-day feeding. Watch field edges and established travel corridors.

SATURDAY 10/17 — 4.0/5 🔥
AM 7:15–9:45 | PM 5:00–6:40

A major temperature drop and rising pressure behind the front could improve daylight movement. Strong winds may keep deer in protected areas, so focus on sheltered hollows, benches, and leeward slopes. Afternoon conditions should improve as winds ease.

Our TOP PICK of the week! Near-freezing temperatures, calmer winds, and stable post-front conditions create a favorable setup. Expect opportunities around feeding areas and bedding transitions. Bucks may also be checking fresh scrapes and monitoring doe activity.

Another cold morning keeps movement potential elevated. Temperatures begin recovering, but early daylight feeding and travel between bedding and food sources could remain productive. Look for increasing rubs and scrape activity.

Temperatures continue warming, reducing some of the cold-front advantage. Morning movement remains worth watching, while evening food-source activity could become more concentrated near sunset. Fresh buck sign should help identify active travel routes.

Mostly sunny skies and a more settled weather pattern suggest average movement potential. Expect much of the predictable activity around the first and last daylight hours. Hunt close to cover and avoid unnecessary pressure.

Seasonable mornings and warmer afternoons continue. Focus on active scrapes, mast-producing timber, and bedding-to-feeding transitions. Pre-rut activity is building, but consistent daylight chasing is not expected everywhere just yet.
