And now another very special collab with the one and only Cantina Cantina. I’ve been a fan of Pat’s work for quite some time. We met long ago at OG Greenport Brewing during my home brewing days. Much respect. Years later I remember immensely enjoying an India Pale L***r Pat brewed at the old Brewology in Port Jeff circa 2020. We decided to bring it full circle and brew an India Pale L***r for the ages.

Mystical Insight Part A - India Pale L***r - 6.0% ABV
Brewed with Hudson Valley Malt and heavily dry hopped with Colombus & Galaxy.

Mystical Insight Part B - India Pale L***r - % ABV
Brewed with Hudson Valley Malt and heavily dry hopped with Colombus & Citra

The wort was divided into separate tanks and both fermented with blend of Lallemand Verdant & SafL***r 34/70. Each b**r was dry hopped with 1/3 Colombus and 2/3 Galaxy or Citra respectively. The results yield a dry yet dangerously expressive and drinkable ale/lager hybrid with a dank backbone and fruit forward top notes.

Both available on draft and in crowlers to go today, Thursday, September 3rd. Opening at 3pm until 8-9ish. Stop by and try some of this wonderful brew.

Cheers!

This week we have two special collabs…
(stay tuned for subsequent post)

The first of which is with our friends Hong Kong B**r Co 香港啤酒公司-Craft. Dan reached out many moons ago wanting to brew some fire haze. Finally when the time was right, we collaborated on a recipe to brew at both locations. Major thank you to Dan and the Hong Kong B**r Co 香港啤酒公司-Craft crew for sourcing Citra from Yakima Chief Hops that most closely matched their selection. This is our iteration of the recipe…

No Way As Way - Double IPA - 8.5% ABV
Brewed with Dennis Nesel and heavily dry hopped with Citra from Yakima Chief Hops, Nectaron from NZ Hops Ltd, and Southern Cross from Freestyle Hops. The color and viscosity of this b**r is astonishing. Tastes like dank tropical fruit gum.

Available on draft and in crowlers to go today, Thursday, September 3rd. We’ve been opening on Thursdays lately. Usually 3pm until 8-9ish. Stop on by and come hang.

Cheers!

🦞🍻 Surprise! Cousins Maine Lobster will be here tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th from 5-9PM

Fresh lobster rolls, cold craft b**r, and good vibes all day long. Bring your friends, bring your appetite. 💥🍺🦞

Better yet…don’t wait until Sunday. Join us on Friday and Saturday for warm weather and delicious brews. Feel free to bring in any outside food you desire.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got two more delicious hazies inspired by the two rival factions in HOTD…

Dragon Queen - India Pale Ale - 5.5% ABV
Brewed with Dennis Nesel and dry hopped with 1/3 Waimea & 2/3 Krush.

Sunfyre - India Pale Ale - 5.3% ABV
Brewed with Dennis Nesel and dry hopped with 1/3 Waimea & 2/3 Riwaka

Same wort fermented in separate tanks with slightly different dry hops and fermentation dynamics. Very expressive juice. Drinks with all the flavor and heft of a double IPA. These b**r have the same malt and hop inputs as our larger IPAs and truly demonstrate the power of proportions.

Both available on draft and in crowlers to-go today at 3pm.
No limit on these crowlers.

See you in the tasting room!

August 16th marks 7 years since our grand opening in 2019. Its been a wild ride to say the least. To celebrate we’ll be releasing a few collaboration b**rs over the coming weeks. The first collaboration is our rendition of…

Parallel Portals - Double IPA - 8.0% ABV
Brewed with barley, wheat, and oats from Dennis Nesel and heavily dry hopped with Citra from John I. Haas, Inc. and Southern Cross & Riwaka from Freestyle Hops. Full bodied, saturated haze brewed with our friends New Jersey B**r Co. A NY-NJ expose of hoppy goodness!

Available on draft and in crowlers to-go tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th at 3pm.
No limit on crowlers.

We’ll also have three keg infused variants available this Friday August 14th

- Parallel Portals keg hopped with a blend of Eggers Hops T-90 Pellets and Whole Cone hops.

- Parallel Portals fruited with White Peach

- Parallel Portals fruited with Kiwi

Limit One Crowler of Each Variant Per Person. Only one 1/6bbl of each available. These kegs go very quick so make sure to arrive early on Friday to snag some. I’ve been trying to source additional filter screens so we can make more and lift the limits. Stay tuned.

See you this weekend!

Congratulations and thank you to Roni Jenkins, Mayor Panzenbeck and all others involved for hosting Island Vibes at Pryibil Beach. The event was so popular they ran out of parking and food trucks were running out of food! Island Vibes clearly demonstrated the power of food trucks when unburdened by bureaucracy. A major home run for Glen Cove and a step in the right direction.

So what did we learn?

Glen Cove’s weekly food truck festival series needs a larger venue. Pryibil Beach is beautiful but there’s not enough parking. People were being turned away from the event and the one way in and out traffic creates a potential safety issue for emergency vehicles.

Why not host the event on Glen & School Street? Better yet, invite businesses from all over Glen Cove to set up booths and participate. Build it up like Patchogue’s Alive After Five, Bay Shore’s Alive by the Bay, or Lindenhurst’s Wednesdays on Wellwood. Let’s capitalize on the success of Island Vibes and divert its resources to revitalize Downtown Glen Cove.

Echo Chamber - India Pale Ale - 7.4% ABV
Brewed with malted barley, wheat, and oats from Dennis Nesel, 15lbs of orange blossom honey, and dry hopped with New Zealand Cascade and Riwaka from Freestyle Hops and Idaho 7 from John I. Haas, Inc.. Heavy in the glass. Deep orange and saturated with satiating oatiness and fruit forward hop magic.

Available on draft and in crowlers to-go tomorrow, Thursday July 30th at 3pm.
No Limit on Echo Chamber Crowlers

This week we have three 1/6bbl keg infused variants…

- Echo Chamber keg hopped with Eggers Hops T90 Pellets. Combo TBD…
- Echo Chamber fruited with mango
- Summer Ale fruited with prickly pear

All variants available on draft and in crowlers to-go Friday, July 31st.

*For now lets spread the love and limit these to One Crowler of Each Variant Per Person.

We will be open tomorrow Thursday, July 23rd at 3pm. Stop by for some cold refreshing Summer Ale and La**rs!

Last weeks keg infused b**rs sold out by the end of the evening so we’re making more. This time one fruited with Prickly Pear, another fruited with Strawberry, and another keg hopped with Idaho 7.

All of these variants will be available on draft and in crowlers to-go Friday, July 24th.

Attention Hop Heads: We are fresh out of IPA but don’t sleep on the keg hopped Summer Ale. I’m keg hopping a half bbl with double the normal rate. This b**r will be stinky and saturated with loads of Idaho 7. Be on the lookout for more haze next week.

Also don’t forget Downtown Sounds this Friday. Roger Street Friedman will be playing on the second stage Off The Square at 7:00pm. Mission Prog will be taking the main stage at 7:30pm!

See you this weekend!

The Great Food Truck Hypocrisy Continues…

The proof is in the pudding!

Food trucks are NOT required to obtain the costly, burdensome, and restrictive Glen Cove Food Truck Permit at City sponsored events such as Island Vibes at Prybil Beach and the recently announced Wednesday Night Food Truck Festival Series at Morgan Park.

Instead, food trucks are charged NO Fee and are only required to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance and Valid Nassau County Department of Health Permit. No Passport Photos. No Surety Bond. No Police Inspection. Simple as pie.

Meanwhile, food trucks we would like to host at the brewery must obtain the Glen Cove Food Truck Permit which requires:

$100 for the truck
$75 for the first employee
$50 for each additional employee
Passport Photos for All Employees
$1000 Surety Bond (Costs ~$100)
Glen Cove Police Inspection

Rules for thee but not for me. What a double standard. Any reasonably minded person can see the blatant hypocrisy.

Think this is wrong?
