I'll be demonstrating hand spinning and Inkle weaving at the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton NJ 12 to 4PM April 25th as part of this year's Hands on History Traditional Crafts Festival.

In just a few minutes watch me turn fleece from a fiber animal into yarn! Plus learn how wool is not all the same - feel the difference. Stop by to explore these handcrafts and find out how to learn to do them yourselves. I'll also have NJ Blankets and my natural colored & hand dyed roving and yarns for sale and inspiration.

I'll be next to my good friend Sue Posberg of Windswept Sheep Farm. She's bringing some of her super cute lambs. You won't want to miss it!

Found Cat - Domestic Short Hair, Solid Black Cat with Yellow Eyes Near Norton Church Hampton NJ area - Hackett & Charlestown Rd intersection. Arrived Aug. 15th. Beautiful animal, likely ~1 year old. UPDATE: not microchipped, intact male. Has calmed down in captivity and is super friendly. Would make a great pet. Adoptable now at Animal Control (Glen Manor Vet 908-537-7663) for the cost of a rabbies shot & microchipping.

Drop by Open Farm today 10AM - 3PM and learn to thrum (or help me) a m**f I'm designing. Ozzie (1st pic) has been a big help at home, but it'll just be me and Sue today. The m**f is for any outside activity requiring bare hands off and on during cold weather - bird watching, chicken or livestock tending, etc. Same concept is used in mittens and can also be used in hand warmers.
