Ten plus years ago, Jean Ford and Rhonda Cagle took what they knew about pie making and opened a shop inside Country Peddler and called themselves Pie Peddlers. In those days, Monday – Friday was spent with Kindergarten children teaching them to read, write, count and discover. Then on Friday afternoons they would grab their aprons and serve a delicious piece pie or a whole pie. The end of May 201

0 it all changed when they retired from teaching with over 50 years between them. Texas Country Reporter met the pie ladies that same time and changed their world. A new location was needed after 7 years of pie making so they moved across the square to their current location. In the fall of 2012, an honor from the viewers of Texas Country Reporter was given by voting
Pie Peddlers the “Best Pie in Texas.”

When you come to Pie Peddlers you are treated to the same great pie made the same old fashion way. As you enter you are given a “pie tour” and then served with a smile. So on your next trip to Glen Rose as you wander around the square follow your nose to Pie Peddlers for a taste of good old fashion pie like Grandma made.
