Thought I had a better picture, but this little hungry buck ends our kidding season. One doe died, six dead kids, two does didn't conceive. 2 bucks for FFA wethers, 9 doelings, 10 bucks to my kid buyer. Not too bad.

Chicks arrived today! In just 7.5 weeks these little guys will fulfill their purpose of feeding my family, and a few lucky others. We did our own butchering with a friend last year and it went really well.

We are hard at work this weekend! Got everything mulched good to hold in moisture and keep weeds at bay. Plus it cleans out the hay mow! That's broccoli and cabbage then potatoes, peas on the fence, the garlic is nice and tall and the onions are behind that. (And the cut hay in the upper left!)
Now to do some tilling to get ready for beans, tomatoes and squash. Going to clean a goat pen tomorrow and then bale the hay we cut on Monday hopefully!
Should have time for church and dinner at the in-laws tomorrow and a memorial day program at school that the kids will play in the band on Monday.
