We are offering samples of a new product this week, Farmer T's pickles from Greenfield's Forever. I offered samples to Union College students the other day at a "farmers market" themed event put on by Union College Hospitality and they loved them.

I have been on the hunt for a good shelf-stable pickle that I don't have to keep in the cooler and I know that these firm up quite nicely once they've been refrigerated.

They are available in five flavors - Amish Sweet Dill, Garlic Dill, Over the Top Garlic, Bread & Butter, and Hot. The Greenfield Center business used cucumbers grown by Black Horse Farms at Menands in Coxsackie, the sister farm to Buhrmaster Farm in Glenville. We are also carrying their pickled beets and pickled onions. I love their colorful labels.

Students also raved about samples of a variety of other local products like NYSweeties candied jalapenos, Wellington's Herbs and Spices lemon thyme cookies, Slate Valley Farms lavender lemonade and hummus from 3 Chicks and a P.

We are open 10-6 Wednesday and 10-7 Thursday.
