Fertilizer time for the plants. We got a pretty good stand overall. Deer are wearing us out and this fertilizer is tough on the bank account but so thankful for the opportunity. Pray for rain, good prices and a bountiful harvest!

A lot of truth in this post. I struggled for years trying to get a farming operation going and had given up on ever being able to do it because of many things working against me. I constantly continued to pray about it. Last year God opened the doors for me to get back into farming with my wife and boys. He has blessed us tremendously and continues to open doors I thought had been shut for us. I thank the Lord for the opportunity, ability to work with my family and the path he has for us in the future. Nothing you see us doing would be possible without him and his blessing. I strive to always put him first, listen to wherever he leads and have patience to wait on his timing.

In my 50 years of being alive I can never remember a time when we had 8+ months of an East/ Southeast wind. In my area that means a dry arid environment with little to no rain. I’ve had 5 total inches of rain on my farm since September of last year and it’s getting to be a critical time. Pray for rain, pray that the Lord changes our weather patterns because without it our farms are not going to make a crop. Those winds push all our rain west and north of us so we desperately need the winds to stop blowing or either shift to a westerly direction.

First time ever planting in green cover but always open to new ideas and concepts.

In I Samuel David is facing a seemingly overwhelming challenge but he had the secret weapon the favor and power of God. What are the Goliaths in our lives? What are the challenges we face that seem to be impossible to overcome? What God brings us to he has assured us that he will bring us through. It may not have the outcome we want but it will be for His Glory. We have this precious promise but only if we know him and have surrendered our lives to Him. As we watch what is going on in this country and world today it can be overwhelming, unbelievable and terrifying watching the evil take place while the truth is under continuous attack. We have the assurance that the Lord will prevail. If you don’t have that faith and assurance please get with someone who can teach you how to have that faith and assurance. Remember nothing is too hard, too complicated and too challenging for God. If he can overcome death and sin he can be anything including the challenges we face in our lives.
With the uncertainty, stress, fear and turmoil that is going on in Agriculture these days I thought my Bible Study and its lesson was a great encouragement to all of us in Agriculture.

Thank you Lord for the blessings! First measurable rainfall we’ve had in 5 months.

Pray for our farms, farmers and farm communities. I can’t speak for the rest of the country but the Southeast portion of our country is under a severe drought. My farm hasn’t had a substantial rain since October and we are currently 20+ inches behind on rainfall. Our farmers are already suffering and struggling with high input prices, low commodity prices and high equipment costs this is just adding to the pressure.
