We know there have been many rumors going around so to put them to rest. Yes, the ranch is officially up for sale. There are several options to consider. If you are interested in a great home that is sustainable and off grid then you can purchase the house and 300 acres. The house was just all redone including a wonderful kitchen with granite countertops.

If you want the cattle to go with it that is also possible. The breeding herd is gone but there are many steers left so we could hold onto our AG exemption for us and our neighbors.

If you want to purchase a turn key grass fed grass finished beef business that is also possible. LOTS of flexibility to fit what YOU want to do.

We had such a great time in our last show at the Gila County Fair. We got to see a great friend who rode Olympus in the first Globe Light Parade we participated in and showed how gentle these beautiful Highlands are. She stopped by to see us at fair and had the opportunity to ride Bud. Bud is a bull and the result of imported Scottish semen and headed to 11M ranch in Colorado.

Today marks the end of an era for Gryphon Ranch. We were so proud to bring the Highland breed to Arizona 11 years ago and introduce people to the beauty of these amazing animals and the healthy beef they produce. We were the largest and only commercial breeder of Highland cattle in Arizona producing animals for pets, show and beef.

Today the breeding fold was loaded on a cattle pod and sent to Grover CO to 11M ranch. The steers remain on the ranch to complete beef orders and maintain our agricultural exemption for us and our good neighbors.

Unfortunately we have some adjoining property owners (I refuse to call neighbor) where we have had a 11 year battle over the deeded easement which we finally had to take to superior court. The consequence of the courts decision added to the Mescal/Telegraph fire damage and subsequent floods have forced us to retire earlier than we expected.

Once the revegetation work is complete the 300 acre ranch will be offered for sale. We appreciate the research from the University of Arizona and the hard work by Dixon Rock & Materials to bring the ranch to full recovery after the fires and floods. We hope the next owners will enjoy it as much as we did.

Please wish us well as we move to Payson to begin our next phase of life serving the Lord. We knew we found the right place when we saw this verse on the wall

Our very favorite BBQ anywhere is right here in Globe -Salinas's Smoke Street and we are really fussy about our beef. From the first day we walked in we have so enjoyed everything we ordered. However one thing always bothered us. There were these pitiful little horns on the wall. We were honored to fix that today with a gorgeous large Highland head. If you are looking for great hay at a fair price delivered into your barn we would strongly recommend Hay Source LLC. Their service is awesome and the hay is amazing. The owner himself drove the squeeze truck. One of the drivers baled the hay and told us how fussy the owner was about hay quality. They avoid cutting weeds and don't allow trash in the fields. These guys are terrific.

Prayers are answered. GOD is good!!! We were out of hay and had to risk bringing hay trucks down our current road to feed our animals.

We have been in conflict with the adjoining property owner (won't call him a neighbor because he doesn't live here, has fought us for the 11 years we have been here and nothing neighborly about his treatment of those who actually do live here) about the road to try and improve it and make it safe especially after a hay truck overturned 2 years ago. We finally had to take case to Gila county superior court and the judge ruled that the 21 year old deed survey by Don Norman describing our easement was a mistake. So we are stuck with a dangerous road that is impassable in monsoons or storms and impossible to get a rescue vehicle through but today God blessed us with good weather and Dixon Rock & Materials did what they could to help on the road so the hay got through safely.

God is in control and safely brought this load to us today. We have cut back our herd to make this last as long as possible. Our beef business is less than half of what it should be because of the road but we will not cut corners on quality. This hay was baled only last week in California and one of the drivers is actually the guy who bailed it!

God has a plan and today was a good day at Gryphon Ranch
