Lavin's Arena

Lavin's Arena This page is dedicated to the historical Lavin's Arena located in Globe, Arizona (circa. 1970 - curr Many champions were formed and friends were made here.

Lavin's Arena (Wheatfields),located just off SR 188 between Roosevelt Lake & Globe, Arizona. In 1971, Joe & Johnny Lavin built an roping arena in their back yard. The duo began producing jackpot team roping's at the arena, an undertaking which involved the entire Lavin family. Who would have imagined that "Lavin's Arena" would become a team roping landmark in Arizona. In it's heyday, Lavin's Arena

was a well-known destination for weekend ropers. 'Grandma Susie', the matriarch of the family worked nearly every event as the official time keeper. The tradition of "Grandma Susie's" cooking and her open door policy made everyone who crossed the cattleguard feel at home...In fact, that alone was probably the best advertising/marketing tool there ever was. Lavin's Arena has been featured by the Arizona Republic "Lifestyles" publication, host to hundreds of Team Ropings, Gymkhanna's, Professional Clinics, and even a few Rodeo's. The arena has developed 3 generations of team ropers in the family, but more so, it represents a lifetime of the "good ol days". This page is developed and dedicated to those memories...Please share yours!
