After attending grazing school we have a better plan of attack on our pastures. This morning we moved all of our cows into our newest pasture to impart all of the fertilization and animal impact we can, we’ll be sacrificing this pasture for the next month while we hopefully get some rain and let our main pasture rest and regrow!

Mother Nature provides, we follow Her lead 🌎

Been prepping something a little different on Earth Day by tapping into a generally unused part of our property. Spent the day working on fencing off large plots of silvo pasture for our soon-to-be newest residents on Elm Grove Farm: Large Blacks.

Currently a critically endangered species, Large Blacks are an English heritage breed of hog that are exceptional foragers. We are excited and honored to have 2 of the 300-500 registered Large Blacks in the US as part of our livestock lineup.

➡️ There are hundreds of tallow brands out there claiming they are using 100% grass-fed fat to make their tallow. The truth is, a majority of them are getting this base product from the same source that puts the fat/suet through a chemical process that imparts filler oils into the product. It’s not as pure as they are claiming.

➡️ There are very few companies producing tallow skincare products that use fat/suet from their own animals - and WE are one of those few.

➡️ We literally start from scratch: breeding, humanely caring for and pasture raising our animals. They are 100% grass-fed and from some of the top genetics in the country. We only care about provide the purest, healthiest products for our customers.
