What a season it’s been in the mudponds!

These photos capture some of the highlights, from tiny fry being released into the mudponds, to months of natural growth in Louisiana’s nutrient-rich waters. Along the way, we’ve monitored water quality, feeding, and caring for the next generation of Purdin Koi!

Life around the mudponds is full of surprises. Birds are a constant presence throughout the growing season. And while seining day always brings a few unexpected moments, this year included one catch we usually don’t expect — an alligator! We safely relocated this little guy away from the mudponds.

Every harvest tells a story and we look forward to continue watching this generation grow!
