Big shout out to Blooms Flower Farm’s Garden and Gab event in Hillsboro. It was such an honor to visit a fellow flower farmer. Emily was so gracious to give us a tour, answer questions and mentor us in our first season. A lot of affirmations that we’re on the right track and some great ah-ha moments on irrigation. Such respect for what’s she’s accomplished in a few short years. Super fun getting to help you plant, Emily!! Thank you so much for your time! Your operation and farm is awesome. Flowers —oh my—😍

Did you know the best time to harvest cut flowers for longest base life is one hour before and one hour after sunrise? These flowers are waiting for their people. When I place each seed or pick each bloom, it’s with a thankful heart that God is preparing them to brighten someone’s day.

These insects are assassin bugs. I counted 5 in my sunflower row and only one plant eating insect. I’m so excited about our success attracting these beneficial insects to our flower farm this year. Beneficial insects like assassin bugs are the reason we can have pesticide free blooms.

What a privilege to join in the worship night at our local Brewberry Coffee last night!! Thank you to LeAnn for hosting and letting me offer wrapped bouquets to the guests who came—combining the ministry of music with the beauty of locally grown flowers. Thank you to everyone who took flowers home last night. : Thank you for using your gifts and volunteering your time to bring us such a precious blessing!!
