Baking simply. Food is expensive. Maybe not necessarily clean baking but my goal is to teach that you can still enjoy food on a budget.

Each loaf ingredient costs is about $2.75 to bake.
Need extra money? Sell for $5! But it does not factor in your time.

So now retired..I’m learning all about food storage. Today we made jalapeños canning, tomatillos, lemon and lime slices for freezing too!

When you find food items on sale, stock up because food costs are rising daily.

Lemons and limes slices for drinks, halves for cooking!

What are you doing to cut your food bill and plan for the future? The more I stay out of the store the less impulse buying I do!

Not just grow but if something is on sale, basics, buy it and preserve it.

Cutting bananas and freezing for smoothies, ice cream or baking breads!!

Cutting veggies and storing! Freeze, seal?! I’m not canning yet other than water bath things and those that don’t need the canning effect.

These are on the agenda along with flavored butters. Of course, more baking!

With the prices of food going up every day, grow some! Lettuces, herbs, tomatoes, jalapeños! This is today! Nine jars and 5 bags of onion/jalapenos in the freezer too!
