Well, we knew this day would come. She is just a chicken to some but she was a chicken full of personality. A loner chicken that just bebopped to the music in her head. Our little silkie, Pearl, died overnight.

Natural essential oils for flies! Let’s see how it works

If you’re like us the flies are killers right now! We got tons of fly bags and they can’t keep up so I’m trying this in addition. I sprayed inside my house in the kitchen and doors and all the chicken areas. We will see how it goes. I added 40 drops of each to 32 oz of water. Shake well. You can do 10 drops each to 8oz, I just needed a large amount. We are now growing lemongrass!

This sums up their day. We got a beautiful new roof and all 7 of them were absolutely terrified. 5 goats went and hid while the two Pyrenees stayed close to their favorite people in the house. They were released for fun around 4:30 and got their playground freshly arranged.

Spicy is playing a game of “The floor is Lava”. 😂

We had a good 45 minutes of rain that came down quickly. Goats scattered to their penthouse. Garden boxes were blown over and a roof piece off a goat place house went flying.

How many people does it take to wrangle an escaped goat? Technically 2 got out but one is easily manageable. I’m sure you can guess which one that is.

First, the guilty party. Butters.

Second, 4. 4 adult people.

And a bag of goatee-Ohs.

This goat.

He managed to push the gate lock up but hasn’t figured out how to open the gate … yet. He couldn’t stand that we were out tending to the chickens without him. He’s the most dog-like goat.

Also, he and Butters have learned from the dogs that as we walk back to the house, they need to run to the back door to be let in.

We’re doomed. 😂

It’s been awhile since we did a TikTok! Getting back in the swing of it. Yesterday I went in and all the nesting boxes were occupied. I backed out slowly like I was interrupting an important meeting.

Chitters loves to brood in the box with no results. There is NEVER an egg under her. EVER.

How many humans does it take to trim hooves of 5 goats?

4. Two adult humans and two mini humans.

The mini humans wrangled a few of them for us. One goat is going to require a lasso from now on. 😂 It was a lesson learning event as well, the kids got to trim and file too.

And as always, Pepper had to supervise after he got his done.
