LDWF has announced that the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗽 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬, in 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 from the Mississippi state line to the Texas state line.

🟢 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 (𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲)?
▪ Breton and Chandeleur Sounds (bounded by the double-rig line)
▪ State outside waters seaward of the Inside/Outside Shrimp Line

This closure protects small juvenile white shrimp and allows them to grow to more marketable sizes. Remaining open areas will be 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 and closed if appropriate.

⚠️ 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥:
Saltwater 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗽 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 (𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿), except from Oct 15–3rd Mon in Dec. When more than 50 percent by weight of the saltwater shrimp taken or possessed is seabobs or brown shrimp, then the maximum amount of undersized white shrimp should not exceed 10 percent by weight of the total saltwater shrimp taken or possessed.
