Only one quail has been laying- I tried vent sexing and only one looks male- so still figuring these birds out but we love these little eggs!

Still unsure if raising them will be worth it for meat, we will see!

We offer fertilized eggs from these handsome roosters and their hens!

Our quails should start laying any time now and I’ve been hearing at least one crow which is good because I need those eggs fertile too!

We collect our eggs everyday and refrigerate the ones for eating (unwashed unless someone got the nest super dirty.) And keep the ones planned to hatch on the counter.

Thanks for following our chicken page! We’ve lost quite a few chickens the last couple years (including a lot in this video, it’s always the favorites!) to natural deaths & dog attacks when I was watching a friend’s dog. 😭😭I’m expanding my flock this year to up egg production again, and adding quail as well for meat & eggs. 🍳 🐓
