🍉 A sweet day on the farm! 👑

We were honored to welcome North Carolina Watermelon Queen Miss Lilah Byrum to Howell Farming Co. today.

From the sweet potato fields to the packing line, we enjoyed sharing the story behind the crops we grow and the families we feed. There's nothing better than spending time with folks who are passionate about agriculture and helping connect consumers to the farm.

We're looking forward to showing her our watermelon crop next and the season will be here before we know it! 🍉

Our sweet potato crop is making its second stop as we cut our slips and transplant them into the field, where they’ll grow until harvest later this year! 🍠

Did you know? Not all sweet potatoes are orange. These are our purple sweet potatoes — a variety called Murasaki!
