With all of the electrical installed in the quonset, and the giant 15x15ft steel doors x2 removed, the overhead garage door is reast to go in. It will be so much easier and nicer to use the shop all winter long when we're done.

Today was our first time shearing the sheep. They had gotten into some of our thistle patches and we didn't want them to go through winter with their hair matted. It was a learning experience, but the sheep behaved better than we hoped. They aren't pretty, at all, we are calling it "functional nonsheak". But hopefully a lot more comfortable this winter.

Our Beginnings

Hi there, and welcome to our @AalandHomestead page. We are excited you found us and for the opportunity to host you.

We are a small, just starting out, family Homestead/Farm/Ranch located in rural Gonvick, MN.

“We” consists of myself, Wayne, my wife Alicia, our young Son Wayne IV and my father in law, Larry.

My wife and I have dreamed of country living for the past 15 years. We got a taste of it a few years back when we lived in ND on a few acres and we were hooked. To make a long story short, due to changes in my career, we were forced to leave our small dream farm and we spent the last 3 years studying, planning and shopping for what we have planned to be our final move.
