💫 A little bit of real life from the Donovan’s…we took a fantastic, long and busy trip out to Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. We highly recommend it (even with 4 kids that had to sit in the car a lot)! Loads of fun and lots of memories.

To our surprise we received a lot emails while we were gone about making honey orders. 😂 Ordering will be turned back on tomorrow (Friday) and the honey stand will be restocked as well. 🍯

Next up for us is pulling honey!

🐝 When I walked out of the house I could hear the “buzz” of a swarm and we found it. There’s a different sound in the air and I personally love standing in the middle of it. I know that’s strange! Peter on the other hand will not be happy to see one of his hives in a tree. ☺️

🌼 Yesterday we were sorting through frames and came across quite a few that are quite colorful! All of these beautiful colors represent the different types of plant species that our bees are foraging. The diversity of pollen is a good sign and gives the bees a diverse diet, just like human’s. 🐝

Happy Monday! We hope it’s been a great one. First of all, THANK YOU to everyone we saw at over the weekend! It was a fantastic weekend and we loved meeting new honey lovers and seeing familiar faces. We always appreciate your support!

Secondly, the bee yards have been a mess over the past week as Peter has been busy making splits to prevent swarming. 🐝 This involves taking one colony and making it into two smaller colonies. This helps prevent swarming, but there’s always a few colonies that get away before Peter gets there. Life is busy! Luckily Peter had a little helper to make the work move a bit faster. 🙃

🐝 The flowers are blooming, the grass is getting greenery and your allergies may be in full force right now. This all means that the bees are out foraging, collecting pollen and beginning to make honey! 🍯 Today we’re putting supers on colonies. Supers are the boxes that go on the top of hives that the bees will start to fill with honey. These boxes are the ones that we will go back at the end of the June/early July to extract honey from. Enjoy the holiday weekend!
