Marietta Square Farmers Market Hey Everyone, I hope you have had a good week and I am praying that this will be the last of the hot weather for the year since we have so much to do at the Farm! Just a reminder that there is NO MARKET next week due to Chalktoberfest!, so be sure to come out tomorrow to stock up for the next couple of weeks! Remember we always harvest everything the day before so it lasts a long time and never put our veggies in a cooler and we only sell what we grow!
Here is the schedule for our year round market if all goes well. Hopefully it will be a mild winter and we can sell year round, finger's crossed!
October 10—Market Closed
December 26---Market Closed
January 2---Market Closed.
I don't have a whole lot to offer this week, but we will have the last of our muscadines(green Scuppernongs) for the year, some mixed small eggplant, lot of mixed summer squash including yellow zucchini and patty pan squash, some cucumbers, mixed colored sweet bell peppers, the last of our candy roaster(pink/blue banana squash) winter squash probably, butternut squash, the last of our mixed sized sweet onions, shallots, garlic, green tomatoes and a few ugly ripening tomatoes, and I think that is it for now.
I am picking up our Asian green, lettuce, swiss chard, cilantro, parsley, and 2nd batch of kohlrabi transplants this coming week from Love is Love Cooperative Farm to plant, so hopefully we will have a lot more to offer in the next month or so. We also will be harvesting the rest of our butternut winter squash and our mixed orange and white sweet potatoes in the upcoming month as well as planting our strawberries and garlic for late Spring harvest(YES, it takes that long to grow and take care of!!)
Thanks so much for all of the support, we are trying to hang in there! Come out tomorrow rain or shine!!!
Peace and Health, Lynn and Mark
