If you had asked me about D.E.F. (Diesel exhaust fluid) before today, I would have given you an honest answer about it being a gimmick to control pollution. Now if you ask me about D.E.F. you probably will hear alot of explicit language about it and its sensor being a gimmick. I will not tell you the color of the tractor pulling me up my driveway because of a sensor that caused the motor to derate.

The new pullets got their chance today to explore the chicken run. They were back inside the safety of their coop well before dark. Brave New World out there. They are starting to produce eggs now.

Fairly easy to tell where the tractor dumped 7.5 gallons of hydraulic fluid in hay as I was cutting it. It only leaked when i picked the mower cutter bar up off the field when turning. I was hoping that coupling would make it to winter when i do pms and repairs, but it didnt. I'll rake around those areas tomorrow.

You'll hear me talking about turning in hay samples from time to time. This is the latest sample that I turned in off of the last cutting of Sudex. I look for a few things; crude protein, rum sugars(if you cut later in day those numbers increase due to photosynthesis), and RFV( relative feed value) score. The RFV score uses alfalfa hay as a standard benchmark of 100.
Its in a plastic tube, if only the bears, groundhogs, foxes, and anything else will stay away from it. Those animals puncture holes in it. Some eat it -bears. Holes will rot it quick by allowing air into the tube.
