This is the less glamorous side of wine making- sometimes things don't go according to plan and sometimes they get a little gross.

For the second year in a row our Chardonel grapes were struggling with Botrytis so we got to spend time pulling out the bad grapes to try to stem the spread. This stuff loves the high humidity and afternoon storms keeping everything damp, so keep those fingers crossed for breezy dry weather at least until we get through harvest!)

This weekend update is for the dogs! It is the Dog Days of summer after all.
Kick it off Friday night with Marie Anderson Music from 4:30-7:30

Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc. is bringing adoptable dogs from 2-5.
Southern Belle is bringing her bright red food truck filled with amazing southern style food starting at noon
Blind Date With a Book is popping up with a workshop at 1:00- sign up to make your own pet-inspired book nook & shop their adorable wrapped books before & after.
Daniel Kepel, The Singing Violinist will keep us entertained from 2-5
The Honey Spark permanent jewelry & Mrz Sweet Cakez will be there from 12-5 for some bling & some dessert

Sunday we have a private party in the event center starting at 1:00. We'll be open 11-6 like usual, but indoor seating will be limited to the bar area. All our outdoor spaces will be available like usual.

It really is the dog days of summer with this heat. Come out Saturday and make something really cool with really cool people!

We still have tickets left for our "A Book Nook of Their Own" Workshop scheduled for this coming Saturday, August 22nd. Join us to build a handcrafted book nook scene that is inspired by your pet, or anything else you wish to design it around! We will have all supplies available, mini furniture, mini animals, flooring, wallpaper, figurines, decorations, crafting materials and a lot more! So come on out, support a great cause and have some fun!

It's almost September.... the most wonderful time of the year!

In between harvesting, crushing, and pressing, we'll be live-musicing, food trucking, festivaling. It's a great time of year to visit the winery with the cooler weather making it perfect for hanging out by the vines. If you're lucky you'll get to see some wine making magic!

So many places to try our wine today! We're also at the Vinton Farmers Market from 9-1! Fresh local produce, baked goods, homemade awesomeness... In a lovely shade pavilion. Come on out!

Later you should come by the winery and get lunch starting around noon from Munsey's Smoke Shack (and maybe dinner too, it's soooo good!) then relax away the afternoon with a little Old Tim & Bluegrass music by Left over Biscuits from 2-5.

Virginia Beer Day is finally here, so stop by from 12-8 to get your 2026 commemorative glass and enjoy beer on tap for $1 less than usual.
