It’s been a pretty hot summer so far, but we’ve been enjoying the slightly cooler temps these last couple of days! 🐄

Recently we have noticed that the heat has caught up with the cows and they just aren’t giving as much milk like they normally do. Extreme heat can = a drop in milk production ⬇️🥛 Plus, several of the cows are in later lactation; meaning they don’t give as much milk since they will give birth within the next 2-3 months. All of these factors really make a difference!

Because of this, we are running a little short on milk, so you may not be seeing as much at grocery store, for now. We’re hopeful that this will improve over time, sooner rather than later! Thanks for understanding and hanging in there with us. 🐄🥛

It’s Cow Appreciation Day! 🤠🎉 We are thankful for our girls 24/7, and the milk they produce for our community. From whole milk, to chocolate milk and ice cream; none of this would be possible without them! 🤎🐄🥛🍦

Who remembers Sunny?! ☀️ She was the first heifer calf born at the dairy back in August of 2023! Well, a few days ago she gave birth to her very own baby and we are so excited — this is what it’s all about! 🐮🥛

Sunny was also one of our calves in the Discover Dairy Adopt a Cow program, so let us know in the comments if she was your adopted calf! 🤠

The sunflowers are in full bloom at Circle J! 🌻 We will have lots of fresh cut flowers for sale at the farm store this Saturday (6/27) from 2:00-5:00!

We’ll also be fully stocked with whole milk, chocolate milk & ice cream, so come on over and visit—you can even watch the afternoon milking starting at 3:30! 🐄🥛

It’s the 1st day of June, which means we get to celebrate World Milk Day & the start of National Dairy Month! 🌎🐮🥛🐄

What makes our milk unique? It is low-temp “vat” pasteurized (145° for 30 minutes) and NOT homogenized; which means the cream naturally rises to the top. You have to shake it up before drinking! It is pure whole milk; nothing added in or taken out. 🤠

It has been a busy spring at the dairy! 🌼 Milking the cows 2x a day, weekly deliveries, pasteurizing/bottling milk every day (sometimes twice in one day), feeding calves, welcoming NEW baby calves, making ice cream… the list goes on and on; which means there’s always something to do basically 24/7! 🐄🥛

Summertime is almost here, so things won’t be slowing down anytime soon! 🚜🐮🌾🤠
