If you are on our Pinkeye Purple Hull Pea list…. Doing things differently today

We got a little rain and heavy dew. Peas have been picked since 7:15. Big Bertha has been blowing nonstop since spreading them out on trailer. We hope this takes care of wet blooms.

Shelling crew will be here at 1:30. Soooooo if you are on list and can pickup when I text you they are ready between 3:00-4:30. Comment here and I will let you know. I’m going to play it safe and only go with 15 bushels until I see what it’s looking like. If you have gotten and wanting more please let the ones that haven’t gotten any yet comment.

Please don’t bring your fur babies for pickup. Our farm boys do not like other pets. Thanks for understanding❤️

The wait is over…. Shirts are here🎉

I’m going to be at the Medical Complex (25th) from 4:00-4:15 if you can come pickup. I will be in town for a bit after that if you want to text and see where I am. Don’t fret if today isn’t good. I will get with you on a day I’m doing errands. It might take a day or two or ten but we will get together.

I absolutely love how they turned out. Everything I imagined and then some❤️

The okra has been great. It’s been slow. It’s been frustrating for us. Corn and peas were our focus. The weeds got out of control. Okra loves hot dry weather but it’s been more than it likes. Dan resorted to watering it. I did my magic hoeing it back into shape.

It looks amazing and picking beautifully. So y’all please help me by double checking the list. We need to see exactly what we lack.

PINK EYE PURPLE HULL PEA UPDATE

We are currently in between patches. This is the next patch(in the distance) and the next patch(closest in video) that we will have coming. As one goes out the other will be coming close behind.

Lord willing, we will be able to take care of the majority of everyone who has ordered. There will be two more patches coming after this one, so please pray that the yield will be good. This weather is taking a toll on everything. We are so grateful for the little over an inch of rain we received.

Once your peas are ready for pickup, I will text or call you. We truly appreciate you being patient as we work our way down the list.

I’m working on an updated list, and I will add it to this thread so you can check and verify that I have you down.

Until we get the current orders filled, I’m not taking any new orders. Dan wants to make sure we take care of the orders we already have first.

Thank you all for supporting our family farm. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!!!!

Y’all remember me saying the Trucker’s Favorite Field Corn would be way late…. If it made. Well…. Guess what?? Look what God did🙌🏼

UPDATE ALL SOLD TODAY

Who is on our list and can come immediately for pinkeye purple hull peas? We got late start and short handed. Now my phone will not call anyone😬

Hard post to make....
If you ordered Brown Crowder peas, unfortunately, we aren't going to be able to get them for you this year.
For whatever reason, they just aren't making. Dan and I have walked through that patch three different days, and we've only managed to scrape up about 6 or 7 bushels total. He truly believes the extreme heat is to blame. They continue to put on blooms, but they just keep throwing them off. It's completely out of our control, and believe me, no one is more disappointed than we are.
If you would like to switch your order to Pinkeye Purple Hull peas, please comment on this post or send me a message, and I'll be glad to get you on that list.
We are so incredibly sorry. We know many of you were looking forward to Brown Crowders, and we sure were too. Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for continuing to support James Farm. We appreciate each and every one of you❤️

Okra Update
Well... we're still picking, and we're still working our way through the list!
So far, we've sent over 400 pounds of okra to skillets, boilers, ovens, jars, dinner tables, and freezers. We've still got about 300 pounds to go. Who would've thought we'd ever say that😅
It's funny how okra loves heat and dry weather... until it doesn't. This extreme heat finally caught up with it, and we ended up having to water it. These past few cooler days have sure been a blessing, and the okra seems to be thanking God for it.
I know waiting isn't any fun. Trust me, I wish I could wave a magic wand and have everyone's order ready today. But good things take time, and I'm determined to get all orders. I'm not quitting now! The compliments we've received about our okra make every long, hot day worth it.
Now... if you've read this far, I've got 10 pounds cut and ready. I'm not making a trip to town, so if you're already on the list and don't mind coming to the farm, holler at me! First one to claim it gets it.
We say it all the time, but we mean it every single time... thank you. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support of James Farm. Most of all, thank You, Lord, for another harvest. Every pound we pick is a blessing, and we're grateful for each and every one of y'all❤️
