Congratulations on Retirement Nelly! We have been very lucky having you as part of our community and wish you the best on this next chapter!

After 38 years behind the wheel, Nelson “Nelly” Plourde is retiring this April.

He started with Blue Seal and has been part of Phoenix Feeds and Nutrition since the Augusta, Maine mill was acquired three years ago. Nelly has been a steady presence for farms across Maine and things will not be the same without him.

We are grateful for his years of service and wish him the best on his next adventure!

*UPDATE! Kody has returned!! Thank you to our neighbors on Flaggy Meadow rd for catching her and to Animal Control for assisting in her safe return!*

Our Husky Kody got loose this morning. If anyone sees her please let us know. She took off from 160 Flaggy Meadow Rd Gorham. Is very friendly but please don’t chase, as she thinks that’s a game. Has a purple collar and does know her name.

Officially spring here on the farm 🌸 Hopefully the April showers bring May flowers, the girls get to go out to pasture, and everyone has a healthy and happy spring!

“Show a dog an ounce of love and he’ll be your friend for life” ♥️

Yesterday we said goodbye to one of the best farm dogs we’ve had, Chloe (Dois, Dirty Dois, Dois Bois…). Chloe was the ultimate fetch player, she loved to play fetch with anyone and anything she could find! She would make her daily farm rounds keeping away all the woodchucks and checking on everyone. She never missed a chance to go for a ride, bite a tractor tire or chase some tracks. If you knew her you also knew you couldn’t pet her for more than 30 seconds!

16 years still wasn’t enough time. RIP Chloe 💔

8.9.22 the day that changes our lives forever. Two years later and there are still no words to describe how appreciative and thankful we are for everyone who helped us since that night. It truly does take a village and we’re not done yet!

Big plans lay in store for 2025…but until then we reminisce; the happy memories, the sad ones, and everything in between. A small snapshot of the barns through the years.
