The past 2 months I have been struggling with an illness that has caused me to pull out of now 2 paid vendor events.

This is not something I take lightly, the last thing I want to do is not show up to an event I committed to, but I know I need to prioritize my health in order to keep the animals healthy as well.

This has negatively impacted us financially, as I do pay for these events ahead of time.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you all have a fantastic Sunday ❤️

My vision of the farm is to be a rescue of sorts. A place where we can nurse animals back to health, foster animals until adoption, and be a sanctuary for permanent residents.

I have animals here I obviously purchased, but we are transitioning to a rescue only function. We are small, but plan to be mighty.

Today I had the honor of bringing home a boy who needed some bumblefoot care. Their owner is working their tail off at their 3 jobs so I offered to help this baby out! Its been a wet season and it happens!

He has severe bumblefoot that will take time, antibiotics, and pain management for several weeks. Today we had our first tootsie bath, we got some of the pressure relieved from the sores, and packed it good with PRID.

About bumblefoot:

Bumblefoot (ulcerative pododermatitis) is a bacterial foot infection common in birds and small mammals, typically caused by Staphylococcus bacteria entering skin abrasions or pressure sores on the foot pad. Characterized by swelling, pain, and a signature dark, hard scab, it can lead to severe lameness or deep tissue damage if left untreated. Management ranges from gentle antiseptic soaks and bandaging for mild cases to surgical debridement and targeted antibiotics for severe infections.

Neighbors, please call us if you ever need some help with your chickens bumblefoot, it is curable in most cases and while I am not a vet, I am just a farmer who is wanting to help other farmers. ❤️

If you want to contribute towards his care, please refer to our page bio which has our contribution information.❤️

Sad day, Molly Mae went to chicken heaven 🥺

We have now lost 3 chickens this week. Unsure if it was the wildfire smoke, or worms, but I am hoping that everyone else is as healthy as they look.

Death never gets easier for me.

This week has not been kind and it is only Tuesday 😭

We have 2 more chickens inside showing similar symptoms to one another. I do not know if either will make it, but we are trying all we can.

I am assuming a heavy parasite load, despite my efforts to deworm preventative 2 months ago.

I go the distance for my babies as best I can, everyone is on medication, pain management and has a source of heat to keep warm🧡

Eating on our own today, huge relief! Not out of the woods yet though, keep our Molly Mae in your thoughts🧡
