Our Alabama team has been knocking out the gallons! Millions of gallons of chicken processing fertilizer moved and put back to work on farmland.

There’s something I’ve always loved about North Dakota at the end of August. Maybe it’s because you can almost feel summer slipping away out here.

The days that once seemed endless are getting shorter. The sun rides a little lower across the prairie, the shadows grow longer in the evenings, and there’s a coolness in the air once it disappears.

And then there’s the last of the wheat.

There’s something bittersweet about watching the combines make those final passes. You spend all summer chasing the harvest north, always looking toward the next field and the next stop. Then one evening you look around and realize there isn’t much summer left to chase.

It makes you wish for one more long day. One more warm evening. One more field of wheat glowing in the setting sun.

But the seasons don’t wait for us.

Soon the combines will leave, the fields will grow quiet, and summer will become something we talk about in the past tense.

The last of the wheat. The last of the long days. Another summer on the northern plains coming to an end.

It’s not every day you get an ocean view from the driver’s seat of a combine.

Harvesting milo with the Gulf just beyond the field. The combines could literally be parked on the beach when the day is done. South Texas is a special place to spend harvest.

We’ll soak in the view one last time before pointing the convoy north.

The combines are getting a bath before their 1,700+ mile road trip. South Texas: complete. North Dakota, you’re up next.

A big thank you to Gleaner Harvest Van Intern Matthew Tini from Suffield, Connecticut!

Matt has been working day and night through the South Texas heat and humidity to keep our machines running. One of the many reasons we run Gleaner is the unmatched support they provide to custom harvesters. Matt’s work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made him a fan favorite with our entire crew.

We’d like to thank Gleaner for sending us harvest support! Our girls are giving this intern five stars 😂

Thanks for everything Matt! We appreciate all the hard work and wish you the best.
