“Verasion” is my favorite time of year in the vineyard! It’s the time of year in the Fall when grapes are starting to change color and sugar content is increasing quickly.

Winery construction update: the parking lot is in, the pad for the building is prepped, and in the next few weeks will start erecting the building! I’m grateful to be working with such an incredible group of contractors 🙏

♻️🦆 As a sustainable vineyard, we don’t believe in using chemicals to kill grass. Instead, we believe in building a healthy ecosystem. To do that, we plant “companion plants”.

Underneath our vines we plant a cover crop mix of grasses and white clover. White clover is a nitrogen fixing plant that adds nitrogen back into the soil every year, reducing the need for fertilization.

Bonus: as a reminder that we’re doing things the right way — This spring we found a duck nest and a killdeer nest, both hiding in the grass of the vineyards. We closed off the vineyard rows near the nests to give mama birds their space, and they all successfully hatched! Welcome home bird friends!

I’m down to the last case of our first ever estate grown white blend. Only 12 bottles left! 🍇

I’ll save one or two bottles for folks to taste at some big upcoming events (tasting room soft opening maybe!?) but the rest are going into the cellar to age for the next 10 years.

We only get better with age, y’all!
