Cleared this area of honeysuckle last spring and last fall. Now I have hillsides of ferns and Aunt Lucy, Virginia snakeroot, Jack in the Pulpit, mayapples, the tiniest red fungi and today I put in some American Elderberry and Red Elderberry. Unfortunately I have some resprouts and a whole host of beefsteak plant to deal with, but I feel like this is progress.

Trying to put the cold and snow to use and burn out this log jam in the creek. The beef broth container in the pic is actually full of bacon grease, I save all my grease in those containers, and then when we burn a brush pile we’ll use it for fuel.

Hardly been outside these last 16 weeks. But finals are done, and I took the opportunity of a few spare moments this morning to play around with cold stratifying some pecans and blazing star. Still need to get my Ohio spiderwort going or I’m going to miss my window of letting Mother Nature do the work.

It's another beautiful day for senior photos! I still have some openings left for the end of November and beginning of December. Senior photo sessions are $100 and come with a DVD with your photos and a copyright release for you to print your photos wherever you would like.
