Our flowers are back!!!! Last year’s garden was a bit lack luster. This year looked like it might be the same with the rain, temperature fluctuations, and animal damage (A baby porcupine ate 3 of my dahlias and a bunch of sunflowers). That being said, the flowers are finally starting to bloom, and they are looking beautiful! 🥳

We are so thankful for how well yesterday’s barn footer pour went. The weather was beautiful. We were so blessed to have lots of help from family. They’re amazing!

We were also blessed to be able to work with Precision Concrete Pumping Inc - NY and Bonded Concrete Inc would definitely recommend both of them.

Saturday Morning vs This morning! The weather this spring has been wild! 😜

My beautiful snapdragons, yarrow, fever few, and strawflowers are enjoying the beautiful sunshine today! I should be able to put them in the ground end of this week.

This week I hope to finish up planting all my warm season flowers and herbs! I’m so looking forward to this year’s growing season. 🥳

Our first frost is here and the 2024 garden season has officially come to a close.

So far, 2024 has been more challenging than I could have expected. It has required me to say no to good things and leave the w**ds in the garden. It has taught me that when you push and overextend, out of fear of missing out, that you end up regretting it. It has taught me that if you have to “miss out” on something for a year or two or three, so you can keep your priorities straight, you’re not actually missing out. You don’t remember the field trips you missed or that one off gardening year. You remember the stories read, walks taken, legos played, and time invested into your family.

Sometimes being forced to slow down is a gift. 💚

We have at most a month left before our first frost hits. My 2024 garden may have been w**d filled, and I didn’t sell many blooms this year. That being said, I still consider it a success.

- We had a bumper crop of cucumbers, so many we had to give some away.

- I learned that molasses really does work to keep bugs from destroying your plants.

- I was able to cut flowers for my table anytime I wanted.

- I realized a more minimalist approach to cut flowers isn’t a bad thing and you don’t need to grow all the things to have beautiful bouquets.

- I was able to enjoy my flowers in bloom without cutting them.

- I learned that taking a break and stepping back is not only necessary at times but can also help you gain some much needed prospective. 💕
