Attention everyone!!!!
The market has been cancelled for tomorrow morning. However, I will still be there because I have fresh cut lettuce, asparagus, radishes, flower bouquets (they make great hostess gifts if you're getting together with friends or family)!
And I know y'all are putting in your gardens so I'll bring tomato and pepper plants for you too! There will be a few other vendors there with me. I'll be set up from 10 to 12 close to the parking lot so you don't have to go far.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend 😊

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the market today!!! πŸ™
We sold a record number of plants and I can't express how much your support means to me! Plant sales help offset my costs for seeds, potting mix, fertilizer, and all the things I need to get the farm up and growing 😁
We'll still have plants available the next two weeks at the market, and the self-serve stand at the farm is stocked as well!
Thanks again for shopping small and local!

This year's garden starts last year! β˜€οΈ This photo was taken last fall, when we were in the process of spreading mountains of compost on all of the garden beds. When that was finished, it all got covered with tarps to protect it for the winter. This is such an important job for a few reasons:
🌱 It adds nutrients and structure to the soil
🌱It raises the beds for proper drainage
🌱 When I pull the tarps off in the spring, we are ready to plant. No need to till!!
If you didn't spread compost in your garden last year don't worry, it's not too late! It can be done in the spring, but not here. I bet your yard isn't as flooded as mine 😊

Getting the greenhouse all set up this week πŸ˜€
My basement is currently housing over 5,000 seedlings and we need to make room because it's time to start tomatoes πŸ…!
I germinate all my seeds indoors on heat mats, then move the seedlings out to the greenhouse at the appropriate time. From there they get potted up into larger cells or pots until they're ready to be planted in my garden, or yours!

Even with snow on the ground, I can just feel spring in the air! β˜€οΈπŸŒ±

If you're planting a garden this year and starting from seed, now is a good time to start your peppers, onions, and long term brassicas like broccoli, kale, and cabbage! Happy growing 😁
