Update at 8:30p: Leak is fixed. Thank you all for your cooperation.

We were just notified that we need to take care of a bad leak to our main 24” waterline coming into the City of Graham. We plan to do this repair today (9/8) ASAP. We anticipate the repair will take 6-9 hours. An Emergency enactment of Stage 5 Water Emergency under our Drought Contingency Plan from now, September 8, 2020 until the leak is repaired is currently in place. This a mandatory request to conserve water and only use for essential purposes. During this time we will top off all the tanks in town and limit flows to ensure water service for essential need will not be disrupted during this repair. Sorry for the late notice but this is an immediate need repair. As long as we conserve water, all of Graham will continue to have water during this period. We ask for everyone’s cooperation during this time and hope the repair goes smooth. If you have questions or concerns please contact City Hall at 940-549-3322.

UPDATE As of 11:15 p.m. the leak has been fixed. We will be powering the system back up and flushing lines. Thanks for your patience.

As of 4:00 p.m. we have found a major leak in the main water distribution line that comes to the City of Graham. This is a worst case scenario as we were experiencing pressure loss during the leak and before we found it we had lost water from our tanks which is usually what we rely on during these leak events. The tanks are low to start with and will be throttled down to help restrict and conserve water usage. We need everyone to conserve water at this time. We will let you know any updates as we find out more information.

We are currently planning to do a badly needed repair to our main 24” waterline coming into the City of Graham. As long as weather permits we plan to do this repair on Monday, March 9th. We anticipate the repair will take 10-16 hours. Final call for the repair will be made at the March 5th City Council meeting at which time the City Council will enact a Stage 4 Water Emergency under our Drought Contingency Plan from March 5, 2020 until the leak is repaired. This a mandatory request to conserve water and only use for essential purposes. During this time we will top off all the tanks in town and limit flows to ensure water service for essential need will not be disrupted during this repair. All of Graham with the exception of Spivey Hill will continue to have water during this period. Our apologies to the Spivey Hill residents who will be without water on March 9 due to the proximity to the repair. Water pressure could be low during this repair. We ask for everyone’s cooperation during this time and hope the repair goes smooth. If you have questions or concerns, please contact City Hall at 940-549-3322.
