AWARENESS MATTERS. EVERY DOG DESERVES BETTER. 🐾❤️
Did you know that puppies sold at Petland stores can come from large commercial breeding operations?
According to an investigation published by the Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS), David Troyer of Lone Star Kennel in Bethany, Missouri, has been identified as a breeder associated with Petland Overland Park, Kansas. The investigation cites a 2026 veterinary certificate connecting his breeding operation to the store.
Behind the adorable puppies displayed in pet stores are mothers and fathers whose lives consumers rarely get to see. These breeding dogs deserve more than a life spent producing litter after litter. They deserve proper veterinary care, humane living conditions, compassion, and a future when their breeding years are over.
What happens to these dogs when they can no longer produce puppies? Are they retired into loving homes? Are they given the opportunity to live as family pets? These are questions every consumer should be asking.
We encourage everyone to read the CAPS investigation linked below and learn more about the breeding operations connected to pet-store puppy sales.

Before purchasing a puppy from Petland or any other pet store, ask where that puppy came from. Ask about the parents. Ask to see the breeding facility. And most importantly, ask what happens to the breeding dogs when they are no longer profitable.
Their lives matter, too. ❤️🐾
